Fall Style Guide

I want you to absolutely LOVE your fall family photos. Any seasoned photographer will tell you that outfits, lighting, and posing make the difference between a good photo and a great photo. This guide is just one piece of that puzzle, i’ll handle the rest!

First - a few tips:

  • Begin with mom’s outfit. Let’s be honest, these photos are for mom & we want her to feel and look her best rather than finding something less comfortable and flattering that happens to match the rest of the family. Mom always looks great in a long flowy dress!

  • Coordinate, don’t match. Rather than everyone wearing the same color, choose a color pallette and go from there - light or dark colors, bright or muted.

  • No more than 2 patterns (mom in a patterned dress, one child in pattern shirt - everyone else in solids)

  • I don’t usually suggest black because it makes it hard to create shadows and highlights in your photos, but it is workable and I will show an example below!
